Queensland 1d. stamp duty - varieties and plate flaws

In his book, "Queensland Postage Stamps 1879 to 1912", Ken Scudder lists a  number of constant flaws, with their positions on the sheet, as follows:
  • no. 2 Small coloured dot within a small white area on top of the Queen's head
  • no. 39 Weak shading line behind the chignon, just above the level of "D" of "DUTY" (example shown)
  • no. 56 Solid double dot of colour with a smaller dot to its left between "ONE" and "PENNY" (example shown)
  • no. 65 Heavy shading line behind the neck, level with the top of the "U" of "DUTY" (example shown)
  • no. 105 Horizontal scratch through 2nd "N" of "QUEENSLAND", over left half of design only (example shown)
  • no. 106 A shorter, wider scratch on the right of design only, ending in a white flaw on the base of the "T" of "STAMP". In pair with scratch on No. 105. Also has an original frame break in the horizontal part of the top right spandrel outer line (example shown)
  • no. 112 Small elongated coloured spot within a small white area on back of neck just below the hair line (example shown)
  • a white flaw joins the left leg of the 2nd "N" of "QUEENSLAND" to the oval above. Position on the sheet is not known (example shown)
There are also a number of non-constant flaws
  • a triple lower frame break. Position on the sheet is not known (example shown)
  • White oval-shaped mark top right corner, white dot on the inner oval under the 'U' of duty. Position on the sheet is not known (example shown)
  • Cracked electro at top of neck (example shown)

Scratched plate. From a proof sheet (row 11, stamps 5 and 6) in the collection of Ken Scudder. One (A) extends from the left of frame through the 'N' of Queensland to just past the crown, and the other (B) extends halfway from the crown to the 'T' of stamp
